English Second Language (ESL) / English Language Learners (ELL)

About ESL/ELL

English Second Language (ESL) / English Language Learning (ELL) courses are designed for people with limited English language skills, regardless of their primary language. Due to the growing diversity of the communities WINGS serves, ESL Classes are taught in an immersive English style that encourages each student to hear, speak, and write English, regardless of their primary language. Although not required, it is highly recommended that each student have a personal device to access their lessons.

WINGS: Adult Education Program -  ESL Classes

WINGS offers three levels of classes - Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced.  Although students may have a class preference, they will be assigned to the class that best matches their language level.

In-Person Classes

These classes are held face-to-face, once a week for 2 hours. Classes are taught in an immersive English style. Knowledge of using digital devices helps access the digital content of classes.  2025-2026 Class runs from September 3, 2025-May 6, 2026.

**No childcare is available; please make alternative arrangements for your children.**

Online Classes

Students who enroll in online learning have access to an online self-guided, self-paced curriculum to complete lessons at their language level.

Waitlist

Each Application Form receives a unique timestamp upon submission. Forms are processed, and then those that meet all of the requirements are rostered on a first-come-first-served basis. Once classes are full, the remaining qualified forms will be kept on a waitlist.  When a seat in a class becomes available, then an email will be sent notifying the enrollee that a place has opened for them.

2025-2026 ESL Class Schedule

  • September 3, 2025-May 6, 2026
  • Class dates are guided by the academic calendars of local school districts and colleges. Holidays are announced on each class syllabus and posted on class message boards.
