Enhanced 911

About

The City of Terrell Police Department provides all 9‐1‐1 services for the City of Terrell. All Public Safety Answering Points can receive 9-1-1 calls via a telecommunications device for the deaf (TDD) or a text telephone (TTY). The City of Terrell 9-1-1 telecommunicators are compliant with the initial 8 hour TDD/TTY training as well as 4 hour refresher TDD/TTY training in accordance with ADA. Mobile phone users can text 9-1-1 to connect to a Public Safety Answering Point.

When you call 911 in an emergency, your phone number and address appear on the dispatcher’s computer screen within a few seconds. Even if you are unable to speak due to illness or panic, emergency personnel will be able to respond to your call.

This service is available from any landline telephone. Cellular/mobile phones will display only the phone number, cellular provider, and location of the cellular service tower transmitting the call.
