Public Improvement Districts (PID)

The City of Terrell uses voluntarily created Public Improvement Districts to facilitate the construction and maintenance of public infrastructure in new developments. These are special assessments on the land that are paid by the landowner as part of the overall property tax bill. The resulting funds are used on operational and capital costs depending on the size and scope of the impacted public infrastructure.
